High-Tech Pranayama
Came across an ad for this device in a recent edition of Newsweek.
Excerpts from the ad (emphasis mine):
“…Now you can enjoy the pleasures of stress-free living and feel younger in just 15 minutes a day. It’s suprisingly easy with the remarkable new medical device called the StressEraser.
This medical breakthrough actually reverses ergotropic tuning. The harmful process that causes your nerves to respond faster and more strongly to stress….
Medical researchers now know that the harmful effects of ergotropic training are intricately connected to the biological mechanisms of breathing.
More importantly, they learned you can actually regulate the stress-producing activity of this system by regulating this basic bodily function“
I thought I was reading about “Pranayama” ! (Also here and here).
Quick, someone patent the technique before it goes the way of Neem and “Haldi” !

Dear Sir,
The only way to dissuade this being patenting is spread the word around to our “English Press” who will faithfully repeat parrotlike to their “Masters” that it is a “Hindu way of Life”. and lo and behold we will have half a dozen padres raining Brimstone and Fire on the “Christian” practioners!
Spread the message to Ms. Sagarika,Prannoy and Goswami and Lo and Behold “No Patenting”.
If you attempt to patent it it will boomerang on the “Poor Hindus” and for no purpose Shri Modi and Shri Praveen will be drawn into the argument, for probagating “Fundamentalism”.
By the way why dont we encourage the west to patent “Caste”. We can get rid of it in one stroke! Tongue in cheek!

I am simply enthralled by your website-ful infn on the ancient wisdom, that was Bharat!
This Holy wisdom given to humanity in the most generous ways by the creater himself, who many call “G-O-D” and some call “N-A-T-U-R-E” are not being understood by many. And most seem to have missed learning from His wonderful lesson to live in harmony with Him (Nature) and make this life enlightened and purposeful by “caring and sharing”. Instead, we became Pizza and Coke addicted and have become so greedy and hate-filled, so much so we have decided to live in a world of needless suffering, waste and garbage.
We have become so selfish to do things “my way or no way” and in this dubious endeavour we are making everybody’s life miserable. Our prayers to the Lord of the Universe that it is time to invoke his promise given in Bhagavad Gita Ch.IV, 7&8.
