Be the change you want to see…

Dear Friends, in the spirit of openness, transparency and “being the change you want to see…*”, I have now uploaded summary of contributions and expenses related to my political activities from April ’11 – to date on the blog (you can view and download them from this page; scroll down to the box).

My sincere thanks and gratitude to all of you for your generous and continued support. The total of all contributions since April ’11 now stands at Rs 34,504 (approximately).  In the meantime, I remain committed to being open and transparent about what I do, how  it is funded and where is the money spent.

As I had mentioned previously, the deficit in all cases has so far been borne by me, out of our family savings (needless to add, my soul-mate deserves special thanks for her unstinting support in this endeavour).

I am now soliciting your help and support in this effort (you can donate online via paypal by clicking here or the button under “Support” in the right-hand side-bar). To make an offline donation, pl email me for bank a/c details).

I am also trying to raise funds through sale of my compilation of posts on the “Param Virs of Bharat. All the proceeds from the sale of this book will go entirely towards supporting my political activities.  If you have any questions or need more details, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

And in case you are wondering where does your money go, here are some specific initiatives for the next few months and 2012:

  1. An outreach effort in the next 6 months either in the north (UP, Bihar) or in south (Andhra Pradesh/TamilNadu), most likely early next year
  2. An outreach to Jammu & Kashmir, planned for sometime in summer of 2012. I would like to go with at least 2 other activists and we would look to raise funds for this
  3. Workshops on Leadership Development for political activists. I am holding these workshops for a modest fee of Rs 1500/- per participant (incl. lunch/refreshments for the full day) but the actual costs may be higher (the first of these workshops was conducted in Pune in July ’11).
  4. Efforts to find translators for selected posts from the blog and presentations

Comments and thoughts welcome – including on how to improve the process and/or suggestions regarding fund-raising initiatives. Thank you for your support and encouragement, as always. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!
