The “Weeping Buddha”
Remember A Sequel to Bamiyan…?
Well, there is more…Swat now appears to be officially under Taliban control
Excerpts from: ‘Taliban has the responsibility to arrest Musharraf‘ (emphasis mine). I doubt that there is now any hope for the Buddha statue. Read and ponder.
“The imposition of emergency in Pakistan has not created any pressure on the Taliban groups operating in Swat district. The radical group has not only announced the imposition of Shariah but also removed national flags from all government buildings in the areas under their control.
“We know that Musharraf mentioned Swat in his speech after imposing emergency but we are not scared,” said Noor Islam, the Taliban commander in charge of Matta police station. The Pakistan Army recently exchanged 25 Taliban fighters for 211 abducted soldiers in south Wazirastan.
…Islam added that by banning private TV channels all over the country, Musharraf had accepted that TV is a bad thing. “So at least he is agreeing with us on one point,” he said.
…Meanwhile, Taliban leader Maulvi Fazalullah behaves like a ruler in Swat. He has appointed his governors in Tehsil Kabal, Matta and Khawazkhela. He has also ordered the setting up of Islamic courts to provide ‘justice’ in the areas under his control.
Fazalullah has even started maintaining a complaint register in his headquarter at Iman Dherai which has been bombed many times in the last couple of weeks by the Army.
…I crossed more than 20 Taliban check posts between Koza Bandi to Matta. The government still officially controls the Saidu Sharif airport but the Taliban has surrounded the airport from both sides.

The Buddha statue should be considered as good as gone. There is no hope. Islam does not – and it cannot – tolerate statues. This is their religion – and Muslims are very dedicated and staunch in their beliefs.

Why just “dedicated and staunch, sir?” Why not “bigoted”? Time we started calling things what they are. Islam makes bigots out of its followers. Those who are not bigoted (and there is, fortunately, a huge mass of muslims that are not bigoted) are so *inspite* of Islam, not because of Islam.
They HAVE to be bigoted, because this is what Islam is. It is nothing but Allah, Mohammad, Allah’s word: Quran and Mohammads words and conduct: Hadis. There is nothing besides them.
To be a Muslim, one has to be what these say, teach and expect.
Also, there is nothing like a good and a bad Muslims. They are only Muslims – just Muslims; for the latter would be being faithless and hence an apostate: worthy of being put to death.
In the whole of British ‘India’ there was one Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, and in the post British Secular ‘India’, one Dr. Kalam. Where was – and is – the second?
We had plenty of their experiences in 1945, 1947 and in Kashmir, UP, Bihar and South. Of course, exceptions can always be there; but they are few and far between and very very rare so far as they are concerned. But, they are true to their faith and dedicated to their creed and Islamic conduct.
They are good, sweet and friendly. We had many Muslim friends and chums, but when the time and the call came, they were Muslims and we were just a Kafir. That was the reason why we described them as staunch and dedicated.
I know they have to be bigoted if they accept the Koran, but we have to say it right off the bat instead of saying that they have no choice in the matter, they are staunch in theur bigotedness and have no choice but to follow like sheep.. True, some have no choice, but many do, and if we don’t say these things out straight, the non-Muslims and Muslims who belieive ‘Muslims are totally bound in what they do, and not hing much wrong with that ‘ will have no reason to participate in the movement to end bigoted religion (any bigoted religion) which is destroying us all today!
