The inconvenient truth behind Samjhauta blasts…

When I first read the reports of the bomb blasts on Samjhauta Express, I had a sneaking suspicion that they were targeted more against Hindus and Indians than anyone else.

This recent article by B Raman (“Laden’s associates may be behind train blasts”, B Raman, February 21, 2007) confirmed my fears.

B Raman says, “It seems that while the majority of the 68 passengers killed in the explosions-cum-fire were Pakistani nationals, more Hindus than Muslims were killed.”

The article also quotes Marianna Baabar (from an article in The News of February 20): “Pakistan has announced that Indian officials have informed the Pakistan authorities that out of the 68 victims, 49 have been identified among which 22 belonged to Pakistan and 27 were from India.”

Why is it important to publicise this? To counter your psuedo-secular intellectual who is sure to use the blasts as proof that Muslims (and Pakistan) suffers as much from terrorism as India does.

Please remember, a] truth is not always what appears to be…and b] our psuedo-secular media cannot be trusted to report the full details (or the real stories) as they are.

My distrust of Indian media continues to deepen.

    Little Indian,
I tend to agree with you…but we should not give up…the state of affairs today in Indian journalism is appalling.. In my humble opinion, even a slight improvement will have a huge positive effect.

Jagmohan – please do put a link to the comment if you have it – or was it on TV? Dhanyawaad.
