Now worrying about Arvind Kejriwal..

From a recent news-report on Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Lucknow (whose title is interesting in itself: गलती थी मोदी की तारीफ,आन्दोलन सांप्रदायिक हुआ तो अलग हो जाऊंगा’  - Modi’s praise was a mistake, will leave if movement becomes communal), a few excerpts & quotes that might set you thinking:

केजरीवाल ने बताया कि जब भी कोर कमेटी का विस्तार होगा, उसमें दलित व मुसलमान को भी शामिल किया जाएगा। बैठक में तय हुआ कि अब पोस्टर हिंदी के साथ उर्दू में भी छपेंगे।  [

[loose translation] Kejriwal said that whenever the core committee is expanded, it will also have Dalits and Muslims. It was decided that the posters will now also be in Urdu, along with Hindi.

and..

[loose translation] We are all affected by corruption but the ones most affected at the poor and the down-trodden. Since our Muslim brothers are economically weaker, they are more affected by corruption.

and finally…

[loose translation] He said, “It was the opinion of all at the meeting with representatives of the minority community that people of the country should rise above jaati, religion and dharma to root out corruption

I am now convinced that Arvind would make a wonderful politician! It is a shame he is not thinking of contesting elections 🙂

It may well be that he said all of the above, but I am inclined to be sceptical of reporting by the Indian media in general and the printed press in particular. The IAC team is being analysed with a fine tooth comb, and are made to get defensive about many things. I agree they need to define where they stand on issues, if they are taking a stand on issues other than corruption. It’s a ploy to isolate Modiji as well.
Personally I think the team, apart from Annaji, is young and inexperienced and there is a lack of cohesive thought, and an unclear roadmap, apart from the Lokpal Bill. The goverment has been drawing this whole thing out to kill the momentum of the movement, with mixed results.. maybe I am being cynical.

    Dear Sir,
It is really a welcoming thought that team Anna is looking at it most positively.
I am sure that Shri. Modi will welcome such a thought process from Shri. Kejriwal.
All these years the Dalits/Muslims/downtrodden have been lied to kept in abject blindness and made to live in ghettos so that many corrupt politicians can survive on the slogan of poverty/underprivileged etc.\`
It was suited that these were always kept as goons for the corrupt to do their dirty works. Amitabh Bachan Portrayed such a character in a movie.
Now with Anna working with them they will understand the real truth which is that Bharat is for everybody and all these pseudosecularists were just exploiting them for their own benefits.
They will come to know that Hindus have never been against anybody and that Hindus/Muslims/Dalits/Downtrodden have been kept in the dark and power mongering through corruption has led to this division among all Indians and true Bharatvasis.
I am sure with the strong LokPal bill all these exploiters will have no money to bully the ordinary Indian and they will all be proud to call them Bharatvasis.

Well he is getting ready for yet another International award. Fame is the last infirmity of the noble mind. In this era of scams & corruption this is Kejriwal’s humble contribution, no matter how much he may claim to fight against them.. As usual, the blow of which would be borne by the Hindu Community which rarely rewards its most earnest & honest leaders, workers & sympathisers. On the contrary disregards & pushes them into oblivion….Balraj Madhok, Sita Ram Goel, Ram Swaroop….and next in line seem to be Arun Shourie & Koenraad Elst.
Generally, we find at the helm of Hindu affairs ,only two kinds : the first , intelligent, opportunist & manupilative, the second, dedicated & dumb. Infact dumb enough to be manipulated by the first kind.
Does it make a good business case to side with the Hindus then ?

  5. Ravindra says:

@VCK, How are you sure that moslems were downtrodden deliberately by other communities? They ruled bharat for 1000 yrs. So, what is your point of evidence that mos’s are downtrodden?

I can only see that the poor hindus had converted to this cruel religion under the might of sword. It doesn’t mean that muzzies are downtrodden deliberately by hindus.

If you have a valid counter point, I would be glad to get corrected.

Were you expecting any less from Kejriwal or this group?
Any visuals of Anna or his group on the stage showed a motley crew of nuts sitting around and plenty of skull caps.
These statements indicate: (1) Unwillingness to deal with the truth and be open about it (2) Unwillingness to change the status quo wrt “minorities”.
The loons of the NAC and “secularists” must be thrilled.

  7. S says:

the fact that he got ‘magsaysay’ award , should be a matter of concern for everybody.

  8. RC says:

    @seadog4227
    “motley crew of nuts”
    LOL

India’s problem according to these nuts is that there just isnt enough bureaucracy and we need an extra layer of it. Brilliant. Another stupid award please.

  9. S says:

from Wikipedia – “In an article published in the Hindu newspaper in 22nd August 2011, Booker prize winning author and civil rights activist Arundhati Roy alleged that an NGO run by Kejriwal received a donation of USD 400,000 from the Ford Foundation in the past 3 years. [22] Arvind Kejriwal has since admitted that the NGO Kabir he runs along with Manish Sisodia, did receive funds from the New York-based Ford Foundation, but pointed out that it had stopped about two years ago.Kejriwal dismissed the view held by some which suggested that Ford Foundation has historically been linked to CIA, the US intelligence agency that used it for channeling funds to its recipients in foreign countries. [23] [24]”

  10. v.c.krishnan. says:

    Dear Shri. Ravindra,
I am not rebutting the fact that the moslems ruled us for 1000 years, The point I am trying to make is that keeping that matter as a matter of “psyche’ the peuudoseclarists have made them get into the ambit of ghettoism. This ghettoism has made them pliable and they have lost their touch with reality. They feel that they have been let down and therefore they have entered into the space of inertia; and from the pinnacle of being a ruling class they have been made to think as beggars.
The aspect that I wish to highlight is that we have been using money as a tool for developing goons and goondas. These goondas have developed their areas well and people are forced to vote to whom they want to come to power. How did they develop because of money; How did the money power come through corruption and so the circle continues.
If all Bharatvasis are made to realise their potential I have a feeling that we will be on the road to recovery very easily.
My evidence that they are downtrodden is the marked difference in their former lifestyles and their current ghettos in which they live. Pockets of luxury are present but on the whole wherever I have travelled in India I have noticed that the ghetttos of moslems are extremely sad to look at.
No emperical evidence is available for me to support this matter.

    vck

It seems the cat is out of the bag, so to say, if the reports are accurate.Kejriwal seems to be keenly observing the scene and will announce his candidature for elections when he sees a good chance of winning large enough number of seats to be king-maker if not the king.

  12. K.Harapriya says:

We need not villify the Magsaysay award needlessly. I think even Arun Shourie got one. What concerns me is that Prashant Bhushan and Kejriwal all seem to believe that corruption started in the 1990s with the liberalization policies. Does anyone remember the India before 1990 where I think we had one brand of bread and people had to wait months, if not years, to get a scooter or car? These nuts want us to go back to that era.

And Anna. He makes the Ram Sena who were harrassing women in pubs look like liberals. At least they backed down. This Anna went on NDtV and talked about public flogging of drinkers. OH My God!!

It seems to me that the existing laws would suffice in prosecuting offenders and criminals. I really doubt we need the lokpal. Firstly these individuals in the lokpal would not be accountable to government. And more dangerously, they are not accountable to the public since they are not voted in. I hope good sense prevails and the Supreme court tosses the whole thing as unconstitutional.

  13. Rajarshi Roy says:

I don’t see anything wrong in whatever Mr. Kejriwal has said. Any fight against corruption has to be inclusive and must rise above the myriad faultlines dividing our country.

Reading such an intention or sentiment as appeasement of minorities or some sort of political gimmick is to me, deep cynicism.

And those commentators who are wondering why Muslims are poor in spite of ruling ‘us’ (will somebody care to explain who is this ‘us’) for 1000 years, I would suggest to read up a little more on the sub-continent’s history. And when I say history, I mean relatively unbiased, liberal history and not only the ones written by Savarkars and Golwalkars.

    Peace. 🙂

  14. Ravindra says:

    @Rajarshi Roy,

#1. In US, none talks about *including negros* in any movements, or govt policies. When they say Americans everyone is included.

#2. So, why don’t you also talk about including each n every sect and creed, like brahmins (madhvas, vaishnavas, shastri’s, sharma’s, …), vysyas (shettis, lingayats, guptas, …). By not question to include these above castes and creeds, you are becoming a victim of that so called *deep cynicism*.

As long as anyone continues talking about including some sects in any govt. program or in a mass movement, that person is ignorantly becoming a deep cynicist that he/she is claiming for others.

So, how long should we talk about including these minorities? Is this for eternity? Are these minorities to remain in perpetual highlight for every occasion, reminding the rest of us that we need a special mention for them until the earth exists.

My recommendation is please do an introspection.

    thanks,
    RV

‘us’ means Bharateeyas, who were residents of this land prior to invasion by muhammadan forces like ghajni, ghouri, babur. If you have not got this simple fact, probably you are pretending blind.

So, you would like us to read Communists’ perverted history perpetrated by JNU historians of dubious credentials like RC Guha, Arundhati Roy and their ilk?

Savarkar is a great patriot, who spent his life in prison for most part. By dishonoring / ridiculing him, you are proving your anti-national communist upbringing. Golwalkar is another great visionary, who dreamt of a resurgent Bharat.

By ridiculing these 2 personalities, you are showing your *secular* credentials. Try your best, so you may get a membership in CON-gress party. Best of luck.

If anyone wants to read Indian history from an unbiased point of view, satyameva-jayate.org is superb.

    Another brilliant site is http://satyagni.com/5258/who-are-indian-muslims/

This site has series of articles on Islamic Imperialism in India. They have taken the proof from the books written by Muslim authors like Tarikh-i-Wassaf, Chach Nama etc etc.

Since the inception of the Team Anna, I have been saying that this TA is formed by UPA. It is nothing but NAC Avatar-2. Sonia saw the mood of the country totally against corruption. She took the tool of Lokpal bill, de-dusted the 40 year old bill and gave it to the hands of Team Anna. Team Anna and the friendly media popularised the whole LOKPAL and JANLOKPAL. Mock fighting was shown between UPA and Team ANNA. All the gullible urban Indians fell into this trap and felt that the LOKPAL is the single medicine for the problem of corruption. The team (Team Anna + UPA) written two bills, one with pure white Ink and another one with dark black Ink and put them before the public eyes and started the Mock fighting. Anna went on Anshan on every step and the country looked up to him as God. The Climax is nearing. Somehow Team Anna and UPA wanted BJP to oppose some portion of the bill so that they can show BJP in bad light. AJ of BJP is already with this team.
