Further Update: Some interesting “Comments” which were part of “Other” reasons:

  • Introvert but willing to do background and research jobs
  • I have to learn a lot before I start doing things for others.
  • Political parties dont display drafts-the’l bring,if elected. So unreliable .
  • stage fear
  • Too much uncertainity thanks to lack of clarity across board
  • Don’t know where to start.
  • Lack of a level playing field (FPTP system is insanely harsh on new entrants)
  • Prefer a field where coworkers and opponents are not criminals
  • in a job where making a difference is possible
  • Never thought of Politics as an occupation
  • I fear for my family safety.
  • Not my Swadharma
  • A kind of self consciousness, Ghabrahat. (Read Asian drama by Gunnar myrdal)
  • Too much of a responsibility
  • Live outside india…can’t deal with India’s bad infrastructure and bureaucracy

    This is a good question.
There are more than 1 of those reasons listed that would restrain me from joining.
Perhaps it’s a good thing that many of the ‘workers’ of the Sangh remain single, so that family responsibilities do not become a hindrance.

People are not on the side of politicians. As a result, businessmen have taken control of politics. One simple test will prove this. On this website, how often does one find articles about shady business practices? Compare that with the brickbats the politicians get and you will know why there is so little interest in taking up politics.

    Namaste.

The biggest concern is “Loss of Income” and “Family Responsibilities”.
If these concerns are answered, then lot of educated people with good intentions will definitely jump into active politics.

  4. Shantanu ji,

“Loss of Income” is an cause of worry for me and I’m on my way to setup passive income sources to secure my families future and fund my activities.

I think that it is something of utmost importance and we all have to work towards achieving it.

    To all,
Please feel free to contact me. I’ve some ideas (tested through pilot initiatives) which can help in financial security.

    Jay Bharat!
