“Saluting Our Heroes” – The formal launch
Dear Friends, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, it is my great pleasure to formally release “Saluting Our Heroes: The Param Virs of Bharat”
In India, you can order the book via Pothi.com by clicking on this link
All proceeds from the sale of this book will go towards supporting my various political initiatives, including outreach events, workshops and meetings (all expenses and funds will be publicly declared; as an example, pl see some details here).
Outside India, I would suggest you order a pdf copy by making a modest contribution here (The amount is entirely up to you).

As I mentioned in a previous post and in the video snippet, writing this series has been an extraordinary and extremely fulfilling experience. Each post reminded me of how fortunate and blessed we are to have people like these defend our borders and our freedoms…Sadly the stories of these “Param Veers” are not widely known. This is a humble effort to change that. Let us ensure that these men are not forgotten. Let us ensure that the stories of their valour are told and re-told. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!

This is a great initiative. To bring out a compilation of our soldiers who have won the highest gallantry award – Param Vir Chakra. But let us also give a thought to those who haven’t been as lucky to get a recognition like the PVC. Also would like to see and read the laudable circumstances under which many of our defense personnel as well as police forces have won Maha Vir Chakra and Ashok Chakra. Defense forces are institutions that instill not just a sense of pride in protecting Indian borders from enemy attack, but also doing great social service for their countrymen during instances such as natural calamities.
I Salute our brave men who are doing the highest form of service to the country – PROTECTING IT.
Agree Ganesh…This compilation is by no means an attempt to belittle the tremendous sacrifices and supreme courage demonstrated by our men and women in uniform – day in and day out…
I join you in saluting every jawan on duty – on the front and elsewhere – who are doing the highest form of service to the country..

Shantanu,
I am not sure if this is the right thread, But this needs to be widely circulated. I am absolutely shocked at the callousness of the elites and deeply saddened at the following.

Beheaded jawans cremated in a hurry
Srinagar/Dehradun/ Haldwani
Reporters: Khursheed Wani/Sunil Kumar/ Rajendra Markuna
Two badly mutilated bodies of soldiers have raised passion in the rank and file of the Army against heavily-armed infiltrators who have increased frequency of attempts to sneak into the Kashmir valley to perpetuate acts of violence.
The Army says that the bodies were mutilated in a fierce gunfight in Farkian Gali sector of Kupwara on July 30. But some reports claim that the infiltrators caught hold of the soldiers of the Kumaon Regiment, beheaded them and took away their heads as war trophies before badly mutilating the bodies. The infiltrator group hasn’t been identified so far, sources maintained.
