The Facebook 1000 and “Reclaiming India”

Sometime during the last 48 hours, the || Satyameva Jayate || page on Facebook crossed the 1000+ mark.

This is all the more remarkable considering that the page was started less than 8 months before…and considering that I have not spent a single Rupee in promoting this or advertising the group.

To all my friends, blog readers and Facebook Page Members, as I wrote in a related context few days ago, A BIG Thank You, धन्यवाद, நன்றி, ধন্যবাদ, ધન્યવાદ, ਮੇਹੇਰਬਾਨੀ, ಧನ್ಯವಾದಳು…

Thank You

Although small, this is a significant milestone in our journey and this has been possible entirely due to your efforts.

But this work has only just begun…We have a long – very long – way to go…and we will need all your help, support and encouragement along the way. The journey will be arduous…and will involve blood, sweat and tears…and many more sacrifices…but just because a journey is long does not mean we do not begin…Let us today start a movement to Reclaim India.

Reclaim our country which is being pushed to the brink…

Reclaim our country that is being ruined by crooks and self-serving leaders…

Reclaim our country that is being sliced and diced in pieces to satisfy the hunger of those in power…

Reclaim our “Rashtra”  that is in danger of loosing its “Raashtriyata…”

Reclaim our “Bharat Bhumi” which is being trampled upon by the disrespectful…

Let us today take a pledge to “Reclaim India” and free it from the clutches of the incompetent, the unfaithful and the self-serving…

Let us join hands for this mission.  Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!

We MUST start with changing the OFFICIAL name of India (given by British) TO BHARAT.
Having still the name of “India” is an insult to us, and shows we are still under British rule.

  2. Well done Shantanu. Very well deserved support!

In comparison, FTI’s facebook group (http://bit.ly/a2jx1k) has barely got over 1000 members after perhaps more than one year, and Bhuvan and I spent a modest amount on advertising as well! Freedom and good governance don’t seem to excite a lot of people in India.

On the other hand, another facebook group that FTI started a month ago (Boycott corrupt politicians, http://bit.ly/9TXwpJ) has fared a little better without any advertising. About 700 odd members so far. It seems that many Indians are angry about corruption. However, they need to know what to do about it. That is our task – to show them the simplicity of the task if they really want good governance.

Finally, ALL Indians should get right behind your call to reclaim India. It is high time that we wrest India out of the hands of those who have betrayed it, stolen its wealth and stashed it in Swiss banks abroad – meaning the major political parties of India. India has always suffered from traitors: in post independence India, political parties which have betrayed India thoroughly. Time to overthrow them – by offering the people of India an outstanding alternative that will FINALLY give them the country they have always wanted.

    Regards
    Sanjeev

Hearty Congrats Shantanu, Satayameva-jayate deserves this and much much more. The effort that goes into this helps in making all these thousand aware of the situation we are in and in turn if those 1 thousand enlighten some more thousands to bring about a mass movement and determination to bring back our Bharateeyata….well, that’s the ultimate gift to Bharata Matha!

Keep up the good work! Shubhamastu!

  4. B Shantanu says:

@Sanjeev and Uma: Thank you for your warm words and for your expressions of support..This would not have been possible without you.

@Bharat: I am hoping to post something on this very topic in the next few days. Thanks.

As Sanjeev has already remarked, it has been next to impossible to get the attention of Indians let them let alone mobilise them for action. That has been my experience and that of groups and websites I have observed over the last 10 years. You have managed both remarkable feats in such a short space of time. As you have said, this is just a beginning and the enemies of Bharat are many, resourceful, and determined to milk every once of her being for their own selfish ends. Your sacrifices by themselves will achieve no more than the many who have preceded you. A multitude will have to be equally determined, faithful, and ever ready to take your place whenever it should prove necessary. Although congratulations are in order, signing off on mission accomplished is the only way by which we can truly congratulate your earnest endeavours.

Sanjeev, that seems to be an irrational conclusion based on the number of members (of your FB group). I’m surprised that a “rational” person like you would make that mistake.

Shantanu, congrats on reaching the 1K milestone!

  9. Dr. Ranjeet Singh says:

We do not understand why you used the expression ‘meharbaanee’ for ‘dhanyavaada’ in Punjabi? It is not a Punjabi, but a Persian word. In Punjabi the word that is used is ‘Dhanbaad’ (ਧਨਬਾਦ). One can often hear people say: Aap jee daa baut baut dhanbaad hai (ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਬਹੋਤ ਬਹੋਤ ਧਨਬਾਦ ਹੈ).

    With kind regards,
    Dr. Ranjeet Singh.

I hope that the membership crosses 10000 and 100000 soon too. I am an avid follower of this blog, the Freedom Team and other liberal right blogs that offer rational alternatives to the mainstream media.

India definitely needs passionate liberal right institutions to emerge as a true power. Hopefully the day will come.

Iam ashamed that we need to reclaim our country after 63 years of freedom.what happened to our integrity, patriotism ?,lakhs of freedom fighters lost their lives for this very cause.I hang my head in shame ,because I feel Iam also indirectly as a citizen is responsible for the present situation. It is time, enough is enough, lets clense the system . I pledge my support towards this movement.COME INDIA LETS SURGE AHEAD,A GREAT FUTURE IS WAITING FOR US. I FEEL THAT THIS MOVEMENT WILL BE A HUGE SUCCESS .
