India’s Trust in Media Down by 7% – Good for us!
Courtesy Mukta Lad, some findings from the latest Edelman Trust Barometer (Report) that will cheer all of us who have long given up on MSM (Hat Tip: Dosabandit).
1. This year, India’s trust in the media has gone down by 7%, as compared to last year.
2. Even as trust in mainstream media is declining, search engines are now the most “trusted” source of information in the digital/online world. Not just that, the credibility of search engines and free content sources (such as blogs) now rivals that of traditional media!
Long live Google, Yahoo!, WordPress, Blogspot, Facebook, Twitter etc etc!

Long overdue. But only 7%. Change is indeed slow.
Yes Shantanu ji, it’s good but it will be great if the percentage goes up!

Still, according to a study conducted in 2005, there are about 17 million regular users with casual users numbering about five million. 22 million would be more than the populations of several European countries like Belgium and Holland put together….
