Courtesy GeetGanga, here are the lyrics:

    ***

    hama kareM rAShTa ArAdhanA
    hama kareM rAShTa ArAdhanA
tana se mana se dhana se
    tana mana dhana jIvanase

    hama kareM rAShTa ArAdhanA………………||…dhRu
antara se muKa se kRutI se
    niSrcala ho nirmala mati se
    SradhdhA se mastaka nata se

    apane Kilate yauvana se
    prauDhatA pUrNa jIvana se

Can someone please tell – who is the writer of this song?

  • 3. B Shantanu (author) said:

According to this site: This (song/poem)…is from the Hindi drama ‘Chandragupta’, written by Sri Jay Shankar Prasad, which is still treated a classic today.

    Thanks Shantanu ji,

BTW this is one of the various songs that are sung by Swami Ramdev in his camps and his speeches…. ever since past 2/3 years….

So it was interesting to come across and to know about it.

Further, he had published a book and mp3 Rashtra Chetna, with collection of such songs, and they are also available in his book Bhakti Geetanjali.

Stating this, because its a very good collection, and the songs are very nicely sung.

Yes, it is a composition by Jai Shankar Prasad.

I remember this from the credits of the Chanakya serial that I finished watching just a few months back. The whole series is a must watch for anyone inclined towards knowing about that era. Also, great direction and acting by Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

@ vikram: I will have a look at Bhakti Geetanjali. Thanks

@ Harshit: I would second you…”Chanakya” is a *must watch* series..I had the good fortune of meeting Sh Dwivedi last year…Very inspiring in person too…and very very humble…True greatness indeed.
