Blog Upgrade – Last Phase

4 December 2009 66 views 6 Comments

The major part of last week’s blog upgrade has gone smoothly. I have today initiated the final phase.

At the end of all this, you will (hopefully) see a much cleaner blog, more intuitive categories, easier browsing, better navigation – and nicer layout.

Please bear with me through this phase.

In case of disaster (I hope not), please direct your browser to this URL where I shall post updates (only in an emergency): http://bshantanu.wordpress.com/

In case you see anything strange or not like what it should be, please email me at jaidharma AT gmail.com

There are still some issues with rendering Devanagari font properly on the blog and I hope to get around to fixing it soon (by the way, in case you are reading this and are technically inclined, please do email me – I need some specific help on this)

Comments, feedback and suggestions regarding those are very welcome.

Thank you for your patience and support – as always.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!

The new look is good but may I say that your older site had better fonts ? (The older site was more easy on the eyes and I guess it was partly due to the Georgia font you had for the main articles).

    Some suggestions:
    1. Attach numbers to comments so comments coming later can refer to previous comments by numbers.

    2. In the “Recent Comments” column on the right side please add a button at the bottom for “Show older comments”.

@ Reader: Thanks a lot for your suggestions and feedback.

I have asked someone who is far tech-savvy (and experienced) than me to have a look at the fonts (incl. colours). Unfortunately I am no technology whiz and this is beyond my competence.

The same for attaching numbers to comments – although this I think (hope) should be do-able without much struggle.

The “Show Older Comments” is an excellent idea…but I have no clue re. how can it be implemented.

It just occured to me that you may be able to help with this…would you be willing? If you are (and have some time), please do drop me an email at jai.dharma AT gmail.com

    Thanks again
