A few things about this mantra.

In The Matrix Revolutions movie, during the final combat between Neo and Agent Smith, this mantra is recited in the background. When I first first observed this, like any other Hindu asked the question why. The reference may have been with respect to the meaning of Matrix itself. To find out, I tried wikipedia. The first I read was about Soundtrack. It said, that the choir was extracted from Mahayana Budhism which was absolutely wrong. Mahayana Buddhism picked it straight out of Upanishads. Even as a teenager I knew this. Couple of years later, when I refered back to the same page, the same info remained.

Some time back I discussed the same with some of my “Hindu Fundamentatlist” friends and one of them had a wiki account. He immediately changed it with reference. Fortunately, by this time, there were enough references to prove that this mantra is from Upanishads. All this aside, the point is this. The basic fact that such a mantra with so much positivity and meaning to it is falsely shown to be from Buddhist philosophy. The de-construction of a culture starts from there. We have to start undoing this deconstruction from this point. What has been first said by Ancient Hindus should be attributed to Hindus alone, not some Buddhist monk!

Heres a link on astonishing features of Ganga. Before somebody says Mr.Henkin identified it first about Ganga, let it be said that infact, it was ancient hindus who identified this first.
