@ Shantanu ji,

Point duly noted. To see the details of the nexus between the Left administration-police-and Jihadi thugs, please view the articles and archives on the website link I have given.

@ Bengal Voice: This comment is on the borderline of acceptable comments on this blog...

In particular, I would like to see some hard evidence, references to back up the assertions made in the first few sentences.

Thanks for the link. I will have a look at it later this evening.

@Harapriya,

I don't mean for this to be a homily or hurt your feelings, but allow me to speak frankly...

In my native state (as in yours), the police acts according to the dictates of the state government. The local administration either ignores or openly sides with Muslim thugs (backed by the state government) who openly kidnap and rape Hindu girls, demolish Hindu temples and murder Hindus with impunity. The local Hindus are too meek and disorganised to raise their voice when their state-wide population is 72% (while the Muslims are 28%).

The only way to counter such state-sponsored anti-Hindu violence is for Hindu groups to physically dominate and "control the streets". If we have our boots on the streets, we are less likely to have their boots up our rear-ends. There is no other alternative. Otherwise you will have to keep running too, just like your brethren ran from Srinagar, from Dhaka, from Lahore, from Karachi, from Quetta, from Peshawar and from Kabul.

Creating a vote-bank is going to be a pipe-dream and quite unachievable without making the people rise up and come out on the streets. In fact, I don't have much faith or interest in politics. All I know is that this talk of gradually creating vote-bank is a good excuse to shield ourselves from the harsh reality.

How long can you keep running away from fighting the enemy? Is this what Sri Krishna told Arjuna – “Drop your weapons and create a votebank to get your rights and land back” ? ;)

What happened to the votebank of Hindus in East Bengal/Bangladesh? Why wasn't it effective? Vote-banks cannot counter muscle-power.

ONLY MUSCLE POWER CAN COUNTER MUSCLE POWER.

That is the stark reality..the sooner we realise it and work towards flexing our muscles, the better.

Please read about the work of the "Hindu Samhati" organisation... Also, please go through the archives and photographs: http://HinduSamhati.blogspot.com/

@Bengal voice. Isn't the job of fighting outlawed and terrorist groups the job of the army and police? Aren't we going to create anarchy and widespread militancy if we ask Hindu groups to fight? We should not ask Hindu activists to become militant. We need them instead to create a strong enough vote bank to make sure that the government at the center always considers the majority's interests and the rule of law instead of pandering to minorities.

Let us learn something from the Chinese . The current theory seems to be that any separatist movement only lasts around 15-20 years, around the time for a generation to vent its ire. Subsequent generations are less inclined to carry on. This is what happened in Punjab. Doing what China did in Tibet may be the only option. They have basically developed Tibet to such an extent and seduced the newer generations with economic wealth.

Since in the North-east there is a confluence of local separatist movements and cross border and international jihadi elements, we might need to do what Srilanka is doing now which is essentially crushing the LTTE with its military might. Once that is done, we need to develop the north east so that it is at least on par with the better run states in India. For this, we need a government which actually has a man with some knowledge and guts at the head, not a guy who will bow down to a italian housewife and any other motley group calling itself a third front .
