That is new. When I was a child, they used atiwaadi although that technically could be excessivist and not extremist. I agree with your post. Language is a potent weapon. Calling them 'terrorist' gives them more power of effecting certain outcomes than calling them 'extremist' which is only a characterisation of their philosophy. Charampanthi? That is new.
