3 yrs, 300 posts, 900 comments…

… (but) miles to go before I sleep…

Last week,  my blog turned three years old and received its 900th comment to its 300th post*.

This has been a hard journey…but more than worth all the effort and pain.

On the “internet”, three years is a long time for a blog…and yet it just feels like yesterday when I wrote my first post.

Until about three years ago, I was like any other normal, middle-class Indian – long on debate/discussion and short on action. Something happened three years ago that changed all that and led to the creation of my blog — then called “Hindu Dharma” and now simply, || Satyameva-Jayate || (Truth Alone Prevails)

The blog started off as an effort to understand the seeds of terrorism and became the beginning of a journey…

…an exploration into the philosophical underpinnings of Hindu Dharma, my history, culture and heritage…and an attempt at discovering my roots…

That journey is not finished yet but my focus has shifted…The blog has evolved today to being more concerned with Bharat (India) and Dharma.

Over time, it may evolve further and move in other directions…But the pen only goes so far…

Someday, I hope to be able to do a lot more for my country and its people…Until then, my efforts will be focused on asking questions and finding answers – particularly hard questions and uncomfortable answers…

But this post will just not be complete without an acknowledgement of gratitude and thanks.

.

First of all, I am grateful to my wife – who was my first reader and has been a loyal supporter and a true companion throughout this period of discovery and self-realisation.

Without her support, this would have been impossible to do…I thank her for sacrificing countless hours while I was busy at the keyboard or doing background research. I also thank her for being patient with me through my “dark periods” and the occasional writer’s block.

Thanks to everyone who has ever written back…

Comments make this site come alive. They tell me someone somewhere is actually reading this and thinking about it…They are a great source of encouragement and support and of course they are wonderful triggers for future posts…

Through these comments, I have become familiar with some extraordinary people and some very committed and passionate individuals… It is a long journey and and it feels nice to know one is not alone. Thanks for helping me keep going through this.

Please continue writing in…and please continue to spread the word.   This blog has got to where it is today entirely due to your efforts.

If each one of you decide to tell one new person about this site every week, I will have a 50 new readers within a year…If just 20 of you decide to help, I will have 1000 new readers by the end of this year.

But I can hardly do that without your support and encouragement.

Do let your friends and acquaintances know within the orkut communities, yahoo groups or other associations & groups that you may belong to about this blow.

Do ask them to read, participate and comment. Do please suggest the site to like-minded people and those who you think may enjoy its content. I am fortunate to have got a memorable website address for my blog http://Satyameva-Jayate.Org/  – please feel free to pass it on.

The blog has also now appeared on buzzerhut (thanks to some anonymous reader) where you can rate it.

Thanks for visiting the site, for contributing and sharing your thoughts and for being loyal in your readership.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.

It is an envious achievement and a significant mile stone.
Let me pray that you are showered with HIS blessings and in the coming three years, may you reach the Thousand Blogs and Ten Thousand Comments. You will reach there as HE dwells in your beautiful heart!.

“That journey is not finished yet but my focus has shifted…The blog has evolved today to being more concerned with Bharat (India) and Dharma.”
I do not see any shift in your focus. Because, there is no difference between Bharata Dharma and Sanathana Dharama.
    With prayers,

    Shantanu:

Heartiest good wishes from someone who had stumbled onto your blog a week or so ago. Keep searching for the truth, trends, and keep relating daily events to primary sources. The truth is the truth, labels that people give you – and labels that you may be afraid of – will vanish sooner or later as more people’s eyes and ears are opened up to the truth (not some obscure truth, but black-and-white printed commands in primary sources).
