“Temple hit when earlier plot failed” – TOI

For those who still believe that terrorists’ main aim is to kill randomly (and not discriminate when planning their attacks) – please note the headline in a recent Times of India report*: “Temple hit when earlier plot failed”

Excerpts:

“Faizal Sheikh, who acted as a coordinator between the India and Pakistani 7/11 suspects, has said in his confession that he met Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Azam Cheema at a camp in Pakistan. It was at the camp that he learnt that the ISI had sent operatives earlier to attack trains in Mumbai but due to logistical difficulties the plan was called off. The same men then attacked the temple at Ayodhya…”

And there is a passing reference to SIMI too…”In fact, all the key men in the plot were linked SIMI for years and Faizal had rallied them out to carry out one major attack”
